Dramaturgy and Beyond

Dramaturgy and Beyond is a three-year programme that investigates and unpacks dramaturgy and the dramaturgical in performance making. Initiated in 2018, and co-organised by The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts School of Drama and Freespace, the programme illuminates the role and practice of dramaturgy in the context of contemporary performance through talks, roundtables, workshops and practicum sessions with international dramaturgs.
The second year of Dramaturgy and Beyond explores the role of Dramaturgy in curating and festival making through a series of public seminars and professional workshops, the first of these take place in October 2019. Details of further events will be announced soon.
