Festive Waterfront #CCDF2019

The CCDC in Residence and City Contemporary Dance Festival programme includes a weekend of free outdoor dance events along the Art Park waterfront. Highlights include Granite by award-winning Australian choreographer Liesel Zink and a special restaging of Re-Mark (Italian Version) by independent dancers under the umbrella of Fabbrica Europa and Spellbound Contemporary Ballet choreographed by CCDC resident choreographer Sang Jijia. GraniteRe-Mark (Italian Version)Weekend Market

Granite

Created through a process of cultural exchange, the durational performance Granite sees Hong Kong and Australian dancers perform endurance-based choreography among hundreds of fragments of granite. The performance explores the socio-political body in shifting cultural and physical landscapes and contemplates the socio-political meanings of placing the body at the centre of this mass of material.

Re-Mark (Italian Version)

To accompany the Hong Kong iteration of Re-Mark – the opening event of the City Contemporary Dance Festival – choreographer Sang Jijia presents a special restaging of the original production that premiered at the 2018 Fabbrica Europa Festival in Italy. Exploring memory and the traces we leave behind in our everyday lives, Re-Mark (Italian Version) is presented as a site-specific piece for the Freespace Terrace by the independent dancers under the umbrella of Fabbrica Europa and Spellbound Contemporary Ballet.
