Cathay Pacific International Chinese New Year Carnival Cancelled

In view of the latest development of the novel coronavirus infection, the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), after careful consideration of the need to protect the health and safety of local residents, visitors, performing groups and working staff, has decided to cancel the Cathay Pacific International Chinese New Year Carnival, which was scheduled to be held from 25 January to 28 January 2020.

The HKTB will inform the travel trade, local residents and visitors of the relevant arrangements through various channels. The HKTB sincerely appreciates all the sponsors, partners, international and local performing groups, and exhibitors for their support to the event. The HKTB deeply regrets all the inconvenience caused by the cancellation of the event.

The service hours of the HKTB visitor hotline (852) 2508 1234 have been extended from 9:00am–6:00pm to 9:00am–9:00pm for relevant enquires from visitors and local residents.

Ring in the Year of the Rat at the 25th anniversary of our home-grown street parade celebrating Chinese New Year. Our Silver Jubilee will see West Kowloon Cultural District Art Park transformed into a four-day fun-filled carnival with dazzling performances that will go through 24 years of Chinese New Year parades.

And the fun doesn’t stop there. You will find all-day programmes presented by about 50 groups of local and international performers, including globally-acclaimed troupes and world-record holders, giant Insta-worthy installations, a workshop on balloon twisting — or even face painting — and, of course, plenty of festive food to satiate your appetite.
