Workshop 1: Based on Temporary Title, 2015
Using material from Temporary Title, 2015, a live-action exhibition work created by Xavier Le Roy in collaboration with Scarlet Yu, this workshop explores notions of transformation and ways of moving that challenge our recognition of the human figure. Participants will look at the use of ‘landscapes’ to compose movement and choreography and different kinds of dialogue situations, and experiment with the agency of becoming object or subject.

Workshop 2: Based on Retrospective
Using excerpts of Xavier Le Roy’s solo stage works, this workshop explores how materials transform in an exhibition situation, and what differentiates modes of performance in different contexts. Participants will explore compositions that combine the continuity of presence in exhibition spaces and the temporary nature of a performance’s address to the public.
